Ghana: Atenteben African Music and
Dance Ensembles
Atenteben African Music and Dance Ensembles
was found over a decades ago with the aim to promote and sustain
African culture by representing African music, drumming and
dances that illuminates the richness and diversity of African
traditional values.
The ensemble consists of 44 professional
members which includes female and male dancers, drummers and
singers respectively. They perform traditional African music
which appears in their percussion ensemble, drumming and dance
performances as well as the African Folk Music and Ballet
Performances.
The Atenteben Music and Dance Ensemble
can boast over 200 choreographed music and dance pieces accompanied
by authentic African Drums Rhythm in their divers' repertoire.
These includes dramatic infusions of traditional dances from
Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Benin, Kenya, Guinea, Uganda, South
Africa, Botswana and many more.
Over the past few years the group has
gained a wide recognition throughout Ghana, the west African
sub region, Europe and United States of America, largely due
to its spectacular performances to highly enthusiastic audiences.
The ensemble has also held workshops and seminars on African
culture in numerous schools, colleges and university in Europe
and the United States of America respectively.
